Joseph Zárate in conversation with Javier Lafuente

Cartagena 2020,

The Peruvian writer, publisher and journalist Joseph Zárate talks about his first book, Guerras del interior, which presents, through individual stories, three of Latin America’s central problems: the search for gold, oil and wood. In it, Zárate denounces the social, economic, political and environmental conflicts that are tearing inland Peru apart, while also examining the personal, psychological and emotional struggles of the people who decide to defend and preserve their lands, customs and identities. In conversation with Javier Lafuente.
