The South African trumpet legend Hugh Masekela makes his first Brecon appearance to close the festival. His music has dealt with the realities and hardships of life in South Africa, but his live shows are gloriously uplifting events where jazz combines with township jive to irresistible effect.
‘In a powerful set, featuring Masekela’s supple flugelhorn, fiery vocals and intense cowbell rhythms…their rousing encore had the audience on its feet to jazz that was at its best for being completely spontaneous.’ The Times
