Launch of the Visual Arts Programme

Venue: Salida de la Plaza Mayor
A tour of the various exhibitions that are part of the visual arts programme, starting at the pavilion in the Plaza Mayor square with Replaced/Sustituido by the artist Aine Venables and followed by a visit to the Esteban Vicente Museum to see an exhibition of Esteban Vicente’s works. There will also be a continuous screening of Besos, an audiovisual production by EFE, in the museum chapel. 

The tour will continue in La Alhóndiga, where Sostener la Mirada (‘Holding the Gaze’), by Ricardo Martín, will be exhibited, as well as texts by Antonio Muñoz Molina and Marruecos contemporáneo (‘Contemporary Morocco’), a selection of video artists. Afterwards, there will be a visit to the Casa de los Picos, where AHEC presents the exhibition Madera y diseño actual (‘Wood and modern design’), followed by a trip to the Chamber of Commerce to see Classroom portraits by Julian Germain. 

The tour will conclude at the Torreón de Lozoya, where Natures vivantes/Live portraits, by Rafael Cidoncha, with texts by Bernard-Henri Lévy, will be on display alongside Capas de tiempos (‘Time layers’), Alberto Corazón’s new sculptures. The pupils of the British Council School will perform in La Alhóndiga at 7.30pm, in the Chamber of Commerce at 8.30pm and in the Torreón de Lozoya at 9.30pm.
