'What's the Beef with Meat?' was the topic of an event chaired by the BBC Food Programme's Dan Saladino, and also a theme running through the Hay on Earth Forum on the opening day of Hay, when culture-grown lab meat, GM crops, and eating insects were discussed. Joanna Blythman, author of seven books on food issues, including Swallow This, Louise Gray, author of The Ethical Carnivore, and Minette Batters, NFU President, were among the speakers on a day debating the way we produce, supply and regulate the food we eat.
