A Noble Man

Noble is very comfortable speaking to different people, having “graced the
airwaves for almost forty years” as host of the event (and his former radio producer]
Carolyn Hitt put it. As a result the event felt more like a cosy
conversation.
Hitt introduced Noble to the room as an “Olympic standard
anecodotalist” and it was clear why, within seconds Noble broke into a series of
hilarious stories that continued throughout the whole hour, much to the delight of
the crowd.

Noble’s latest book, Down the Road and Round the Bend  is linked by geography,
with each of its twenty chapters being arranged by different locations.
There’s the story of his time as a teacher in Cowbridge,
his hypochondria in Llantwit Major and the investigation into the wild and untrue rumour that Napoleon
once visited Neath. The stories varied in style but the common theme was
Noble’s charming delivery.

He said that his greatest joy was his "relationship with people” and it was
clear that he had created a  rapport with the crowd.
