Daphne Mercer holds a BA and a BEd from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and an MEd with distinction in Literacy Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a retired second-language teacher who has always worked to instill a love of learning and reading in her students. She mentors teachers as they work to include children’s literature resources in their practice. Daphne has authored a children’s counting book, The Egret Tree. She is a mother of three and a grandmother of three.
