Gabriel HÖRNER

hrner-gabriel Born in Leon, Guanajuato, where he studied Communication Sciences. Since the mid-1980s he has been organizing films clubs in various formats and at different venues in Leon and Querétaro. After graduating, he published weekly film reviews for the Leon newspaper A.M. and taught film-related subjects at the city’s private universities. In the early 1990s he was made responsible for Promotion and Public Relations with the Bajío Philharmonic Orchestra, now the Querétaro Philharmonic Orchestra. For two years he acted as administrator and was responsible for public affairs for the Centro INAH Querétaro and the Regional Museum. Later he was put in charge of special projects and new spaces for the Querétaro Fiestas, where he worked on the City of Querétaro Museum, which opened in 1997. Since 1998 he has been working as the museum’s director. Since 2001 he has been on the Guanajuato International Film Festival’s Fiction Selection jury, and since 2007 he has been on its Board of Advisors. In 2010 he gained a diploma with PADEM (a programme for museum managers) offered by ITAM, the Getty Institute and MUAC.
