Raúl Tola (Lima, 1975) studied law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has been working as a journalist for print media since 1992 and moved into television in 1999, where he has presented news, current affairs and interview programmes. In 1999, he published his first novel, Noche de cuervos, which was adapted for the cinema. This was followed by Heridas privadas, the short story collection Toque de queda, and the novels Flores amarillas, La noche sin ventanas, La favorita del Inca and El peso del aire. In July 2020, he took up the post of Director of the Cátedra Vargas Llosa, a position he still holds.
