Nereida APAZA

apaza-nereida Visual artist. She studied painting at the Escuela Superior Pública de Arte Carlos Baca Flor in Arequipa. She has inaugurated fourteen individual exhibitions and five bipersonal exhibitions to date. She has obtained several distinctions. In 2019 her short film Historia Secreta (2016) was one of the winners in the DAFO experimental works competition. In 2021 she won the Arte al Bicentenario competition in the Virtual Exhibitions section of the Special Project Bicentenary of the Independence of Peru. In the same year she was invited by the Santo Domingo Centre of Excellence for Latin American Research to carry out an artistic residency at the British Museum in London. Her work is represented in the collection of Casa de la Literatura Peruana, Museo San Marcos in Peru, Museo Central del BCRP, Museo de Arte de Lima, the British Museum in London, as well as in private collections. Since 2019 she is represented by Galería Del Paseo in Lima. Founder and director of the handmade book publishing house Equilibrio. Lives and works in Arequipa.
