Director of the feature film The Kings of the World (2022). This was the winner of the Golden Shell for Best Film at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, where she also received the Signis Award and the Feroz Award presented by the press. She has also been awarded the prize for Best Film at the Zurich International Film Festival, the Biarritz Film Festival and the Warsaw Film Festival, amongst others. Her debut film, Killing Jesus, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and the San Sebastian International Film Festival in 2017, where it received a Special Mention in the New Directors section, the Eroski Youth Award and the Signis Award. The film was selected for over 30 international festivals and won more than twenty awards. She directed three episodes of the first season of the Netflix series One Hundred Years of Solitude, inspired by the work of Nobel Prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez. She served as creative director for the second and final season of the same series, directing five episodes. The series premiered in August 2026. She is currently developing her new film El Renacimiento, co-written with María Camila Arias (One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Kings of the World) and to be produced by La Selva Cine, a company of which she is a founding partner. She was born in Medellin, Colombia, where she currently lives.
