Aura García-Junco was born in Mexico City (1988). She studied Classical Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and she has a love-hate relationship with what she learned there. Her first novel, Anticitera, artefacto dentado (Tierra Adentro Editorial Fund, 2019), is proof of this. She has been a fellow of the Foundation for Mexican Literature (2016) and the FONCA Young Artists programme (2014, 2017 and 2021). She is currently working on various magazines with essays, stories, and complaints, in addition to doing literary translation and screenwriting. At the end of 2021 she will publish a book of essays on love and relationships, and in 2022, her second novel, Mar de piedra.
