José Luís Peixoto (Portugal, 1974) is one of the most prominent authors in contemporary Portuguese literature. His work has been honoured with various national and international literary awards, such as the José Saramago Prize, the Cálamo Prize, the Libro d’Europa Prize and the Oceanos Prize. His books have been translated into more than 30 languages and published in over 70 countries. In Mexico, five of his novels are published by Penguin Random House, and eight of his books are published by Cuadrivio (Mexico City) and Arlequín (Guadalajara).
