Musician, painter and writer. Amalia Low has published thirteen illustrated books with Penguin Random House Colombia. Her book Tito y Pepita received an honourable mention in the 2015 Alas-BID Competition for Best Children’s Publication and was published in France by Albin Michel, along with two other of her books, and it has been translated into Korean, Italian and Portuguese. Chaton poltron, a book set to music and published this year in France, marked an alliance between the publisher Albin Michel and the French cultural broadcaster RTL. In the last nine years, Amalia has performed her literary-musical shows in several cities in Colombia and at book fairs in Panama, the Dominican Republic and Madrid, Spain. Her Camaleón con Acordeón show won a 2015 Biblored Award for multi-disciplinary creation. She also received a cultural grant to support her performances in France and Switzerland and won an Idartes Award in 2020 for setting children’s stories to music. Through writing, art, music and humour, she seeks to spark an aspiration to universal friendship among readers and audiences.
