Graduate of the Linguistics and Literature Programme at the University of Cartagena. Master's degree in Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Thought from the Universitat de Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. For sixteen years she worked as a language teacher in the Bolivar Department of Education. Although she has taught at all levels of education, most of her time has been spent teaching secondary and middle school youth in rural public schools. Creator and coordinator of the Entre Nosotras Reading Club, a space where literature written by women is read.
