Carlos Peña (Santiago, 1959) is a lawyer with postgraduate studies in Sociology and a PhD in Philosophy. He is rector of the Universidad Diego Portales and an academic at the Faculty of Law at the Universidad de Chile. In recent years he has published, among other books, Lo que el dinero sí puede comprar (2017), Por qué importa la filosofía (2018), El tiempo de la memoria (2019), Pensar el malestar (2020), La mentira noble (2020) and El desafío constitucional (2020). He is currently a columnist in El Mercurio.
