(Mexico City, 1982) He studied Hispanic Language and Literature. He has been a reporter with Reforma and a contributor to Gatopardo magazine. Golondrinas, un barrio marginal del tamaño del mundo (Debate, 2022) is his fourth volume of literary non-fiction. The previous titles are Ovejas negras, rebeldes de la Iglesia mexicana del siglo XXI (Océanos, 2012); Los hijos de la ira, las víctimas de la alternancia mexicana (Océano, 2015); and Obra negra (Tierra Adentro, 2017). He won the 2016 Ricardo Garibay Award for Young Mexican Reporters, given by the National Institute of Fine Arts; first prize in the Walter Reuter Journalism Prize in 2013, given in Germany; and was a runner up for both the Sergio González Rodríguez Anagrama Reporting Prize and the 2010 Gabo Foundation Prize for Journalism. Since 2020 he has been the head of the Journalistic Investigations Unit and the Corriente Alterna website run by UNAM’s Cultural Dissemination Department.
