A lecturer at the Juriquilla campus of the National School of Higher Studies, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and teaches on the UNAM Master's and Doctorate programme, on the subjects of Urban Sociology and Politics applied to Territorial Planning. She also belongs to the National Research Network. In terms of her educational background, she holds a PhD in Regional Studies from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa and has been a guest lecturer at the International Forum for US Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences based in Mexico and at the Centre for Legal and Criminology Research at the Autonomous University of Queretaro.
