Nicola Lagioia (Bari, 1973) lives in Rome. In 2010 he was recognised as one of the best Italian writers under the age of forty. He is the author of five novels, a member of the Venice Film Festival jury and, since 2016, Director of the Turin International Book Fair. He received the Strega Prize in 2014 for his latest novel, Ferocity. Lagioia also publishes with some of the major Italian cultural outlets, such as La Stampa, Reppublica, Il Venerdì and Internazionale, and is one of the presenters of Pagina3, a daily programme on Radio3. His books have been translated into fifteen languages.
