Emilio del Río holds a PhD in Classical Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid; he is an academic, writer, and professor of Latin and Linguistics at the Complutense University of Madrid. His programme on RNE, Verba Volant, has been a favourite on the cultural radio scene for over a decade; he is the author of hugely successful books such as Latin lovers, Calamares a la romana, Locos por los clásicos and Carpe Diem, and his most recent work, Pequeña historia de la antigua Roma.
