Julien PETIT

petit-julien Curator and researcher. Lives and works in Bogotá, Colombia. Graduated in art history and history of photography from the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art- INHA, Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne. Since 2016 he has been curator of the Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia of the Banco de la República de Colombia. He is also a lecturer at the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. His curatorial practice focuses on the Colombian and American contexts through exhibitions that articulate images, photography, modern and contemporary art, which question, among other notions, the reading and writing of art history, the construction of critical and decolonial representations, and the strategic place of art in the construction of new communities and collective narratives. In recent years, he has held exhibitions such as Sí, pero no by Mateo López (2021), Ires y venires: diálogos en torno a la colección (2020), Tierra de por medio (2019), Habitación compartida (2018), Luz más luz: Leo Matiz en las Colecciones del Banco de la República (2018), at the Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia; Maqueta para el Dante by José Alejandro Restrepo (2014), Alec Soth: Dog Days Bogotá (2013), at the Museo de Bogotá.
