Manuel Cornejo Chaparro, a literary scholar from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and director of the Amazonian Center for Anthropology and Practical Application (CAAAP). He has published several articles in specialized journals. His area of research is focused on the rubber era, the actors who played a leading role in it, as well as the role of intellectuals and the discourses that circulated around the indigenous peoples of the Amazon in literary texts and press of the time. He has co-edited with Alberto Chirif Imaginario e Imágenes en la época del Caucho, los sucesos del Putumayo (Lima, 2009) and the album Viaje de la Comisión Consular al Río Putumayo y Afluentes (August, 1912). IWGIA-AECID-CAAAP-Tierra Nueva (Lima, 2013) and is the author of the novel El Río Infinito, la primera senda de Yaquichán Tapullima (Editorial Planeta, 2021).
