Javier García del Moral (Logroño, 1978) has worked as a civil engineer building infrastructure in Spain, Ireland, the Middle East and the United States. He currently runs The Wild Detectives bookshop in Dallas, Texas, which opened in 2014. Since its opening, the space has hosted more than 1,000 literary, musical and cultural events, with the participation of authors such as Ben Fountain, Carmen Boullosa, Chris Kraus, Verónica Gerber Bicecci, Sarah Hepola, Leni Zumas and Alma Guillermoprieto, and musicians such as Bill Callahan, Damien Jurado, the Meridian Brothers and Lloyd Cole. Voted the best bookshop in Dallas numerous times by the local press (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024), The Wild Detectives is nationally recognized as a major contributor to the renaissance of independent bookshops in the United States.
