She has been a literary programme coordinator, writer, screenwriter and editor. Her first novel, Empty Houses, won the Tigre Juan Prize and was published in 10 languages. Her second novel, Ceniza en la boca, was published in 2022. It won the Cálamo Prize for Best Book of the Year, the Best Book of the Year Award from the Madrid Booksellers’ Association, and the Todos tus Libros Award from the Confederation of Independent Booksellers in Spain. It was also a finalist for the 2023 Vargas Llosa Biennial Prize. It is being translated into 12 languages. She participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa in 2023 and was a Visiting Assistant Professor on the MFA in Creative Writing at the same institution in Spring 2025.
