David Olusoga is a British-Nigerian historian, author, presenter and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker. He is a Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester and writes for The Observer, The Guardian, The New Statesman, The Voice and BBC History Magazine. Known for presenting BBC history series such as A House Through Time, Black & British: A Forgotten History, and Britain’s Forgotten Slave Owners (BAFTA winner), Olusoga's work spans various acclaimed documentaries and books. Notably, his book Black & British: A Forgotten History received the Longman-History Today Trustees Award and the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize. His extensive contributions to history have earned him prestigious honors, including a BAFTA Special Award and recognition from institutions like the British Academy, the Royal Society of Literature, and the Royal Historical Society. He also serves on the Scott Trust, overseeing The Guardian Newspaper.
