Hugo CANDELARIO

Hugo Candelario. Director of Grupo Bahía. He is a Colombian musician born in Guapi (Cauca). He has dedicated his musical career to the diffusion of the music of the Colombian Pacific. He is also a composer, arranger, saxophonist, marimba player and musical director. Winner of the first two versions of the Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival. He has been invited to important international events such as the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend Festival in 2016 and the Cartagena Music Festival. With Grupo Bahía he has recorded the CD's: Con el corazón.... cerca de las raíces, Cantaré, Pura Chonta, Pura Chonta Recargado, Mulataje and Ya se liberó. In association with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Valle, he produced the work Currulao Sinfónico and with the Universidad del Valle the CD Salud en convite con la vida.
