Claudine HAROCHE

Claudide Haroche, a sociologist and anthropologist, started her carreer at CNRS where she holds a tenure position as a Director of research till 2006, becoming then Director éméritus. Haroche works in a transdisciplinar approach in order to understand the way manners, behaviors, feelings, personnality might have changed in contemporary societies. Among others she published Histoire du visage. Exprimer et taire ses émotions XVIè-XIXè siècle (History of the face. Expressing and silencing emotions XVIè-XIXè century) ; L’avenir du sensible. Les sens et les sentiments en question et Les tyrannies de la visibilité. Etre visible pour exister ? (Tyrannies of visibility. To be seen to exist ?) co- directed with Nicole Aubert.
