(Mexico City, 1981) Mexican director, screenwriter and producer; she also works as a casting director. From early in her career her work has been shown at some of the most important film festivals around the world, such as Venice, Cannes and San Sebastian. She has won various awards and received nominations, including Best Film at the Morelia Film Festival, and the Cooperación Española award at the San Sebastian Festival. Her most recent film, Ruido, was released on Netflix, and for a couple of weeks was the most watched non-English language film on the platform worldwide. On television, she has worked as a director and showrunner for platforms such as Apple, Netflix and Amazon.
