Co-author of the book Colonialismo energético (Icaria, 2023), editor of the books Bioregional Planning and Design: Perspectives on a Transitional Century (Springer, 2020), Para evitar la barbarie: trayectorias de transición ecosocial y de colapso (UGR press, 2019), Los inciertos pasos desde aquí hasta allá: alternativas socioecológicas y transiciones poscapitalistas (UGR press, 2014) and La tierra no es muda: diálogos entre el desarrollo sostenible y el pos desarrollo (UGR press, 2011). His interest in local self-sustainability and his awareness of the importance of participation and decolonial approaches to address the necessary transitions in the 21st-century have become central to his current research projects. In these he works on the conflicts generated by energy colonialism, and possible alternatives based on agroecology and local agrifood systems in the bioregional context.
