Saxophonist, composer, music producer, band leader and cultural manager; a graduate of Arts and Music from UNSA, in 2003 he entered the National Conservatory of Music, and has a Master’s from UCSM. In 2013 he took improvisation courses at the Souza International Music Faculty in Lima; and studied at Berklee (Sao Paulo-Brazil). In 2014 he attended the the Tom Jobim Music School of Sao Paulo State, on the MPB and Jazz advanced instrumental programme, participating in workshops and masterclasses by prominent classical, popular and international jazz artists. He was a soloist with the Arequipa Symphony Orchestra in the years 2009-2010. He has participated in various international saxophone and jazz festivals in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Peru (Lima, Cusco, Huánuco, Arequipa). He has held workshops, presentations and artistic exhibitions at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Argentina), at the Faculty of Arts of the Autonomous University of Queretaro (Mexico), the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cali (Colombia), the National University of Music (Lima), the José María Arguedas National School of Folklore (Lima), the Daniel Alomía Robles National University of Music (Huánuco), the Leandro Alviña Miranda Higher Institute of Music (Cusco), UNSA Professional School of Arts, the Luis Duncker Lavalle Regional Conservatory, and the UCSP Arts Centre (Arequipa). He has written for AYNI Jazz in Peru. Director of musical projects such as Los Cuatro Cholos del Saxo, La Mantequilla Big Band Peruvian jazz ensemble, the Marcos Manrique Sextet. Founder and artistic director of the AQPSAXFESTIVAL International Saxophone Course and the Arequipa International Jazz Day festival. Recipient of grants for culture in 2018, 2019 and 2021, for carrying out social inclusion projects together with the cultural company Punto Música Conectando a la Gente, winner of Ibermusicas 2019 and 2020. His second album is due to be released soon.
