José Andrés GÓMEZ

gomez-jose-andres José Andrés Gómez was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, in 1977, and has always been passionate about horror and fantasy films and literature. In Medellin he created the Cinema Zombie film club, where he gave free rein to his wildest cinema interests, so when he started writing for children, many wondered what he would put into his books. He has received support from the Mayor's Office of Medellin, thanks to which he has written books such as Los cuadernos del Doctor Calamar, Manual para cazar una idea and Marsálida: Guía turística para el viajero indefenso, all of them full of absurd humour and nonsense, but with no horror. In 2019 he won the El Barco de Vapor Prize for Child and Young Adult Literature, with Cinco ramitas de higuera. His new book, Índigo no puede salir de vacaciones, has just been published and, finally, it has some monsters in it.
