Kevin JOHANSEN

(Alaska) Born to an Argentine mother and an American father, after spending ten years as a child in North America, Kevin settled permanently in Buenos Aires. His career began to take off in 2002 with the recording of the album Sur o no Sur, nominated for three Latin Grammys and which paved the way for him to tour Latin America and Europe in 2003. Since then, he has released City Zen (2005), Logo (2007), Vivo en Buenos Aires (Sony Music, 2010), Bi (2012), Bivo en México (2014), Mis Américas (2016), Algo Ritmos (2019), and his latest work is Tú Ve (2022). One outstanding collaboration has been with the artist Liniers, who, since the joint publication of the book Oops! (2008) has participated in his concerts making illustrations.
He is also the creator of El Vecinal (2011), a traveling Latin American music festival created to promote artists who, although they do not work with major record labels, are known in their respective countries. Although Johansen defines himself as a “dis-generate” artist, his witty, profound, intelligent and reflective music shows hints of flamenco cumbias, Celtic sambarera and hip hop. All of this is the result of the work of an international artist and a great band that has been brought together over the years.
