Jorge Armando SarĂ¡ Marrugo, PhD in History, lecturer at the University of Cartagena, connected to the International Institute of Caribbean Studies. Categorized in the last evaluation of the Ministry of Science as Junior Researcher. Passionate about fostering meaningful learning and promoting the holistic understanding of social phenomena, promoting critical and reflective learning among students. In recent years, I have oriented my intellectual interests to new perspectives on issues related to poverty and education based on qualitative research with interpretive, exploratory and descriptive scopes. In addition, I have inclined towards understanding the social appropriation of knowledge approach, ideal for interdisciplinary processes of contextual knowledge construction, and the life course approach for understanding the subjective aspects of major social issues.
