Historian. Former Director of the Anti-Racial Discrimination Observatory of Cartagena (dependent on the Secretary of the Interior of Cartagena), a position she held in 2015; Coordinator of the Master's degree in Afro-Colombian Studies at the Universidad Javeriana; and former lecturer on the Master's degree course in Education at the Sue Caribe. She is currently a full-time lecturer at the University of Cartagena. Author of the book, Rompiendo esquemas de invisibilidad: Mujeres profesionales, científicas y directivas. 1925-1990. She has published a range of articles, including work on racism and discrimination published in the proceedings of the Conference of Caribbean Studies, the International Seminar of Caribbean Studies and Afro-Latin American Studies Certificate at Harvard University, where she has spoken at the School of Afro-Latin American Studies. She is currently a member of the Centre for Afro-descendant Studies at the Pontifical Javeriana in Bogota and of the Families and Gender Group at the University of Cartagena. She belongs to the Citizenship, Territory and Conflict research group at the University of Cartagena.
