Rinaldo Walcott is a writer, critic and professor. He is the author of On Property: Policing, Prisons, and the Call for Abolition (2021) and The Long Emancipation: Moving Toward Black Freedom (2021). He is the Chair of the Department of Africana and American Studies at the University at Buffalo where he hold the Carl V. Granger Chair in Africana and American Studies. He divides his time between the City of Buffalo and the City of Toronto.
