Ángeles ROMERO

romero-angeles

Ángeles Romero deeply believes that literature and art can save people. A journalist by training and a writer by vocation, she has dedicated her life to telling stories, whether from a newsroom, a communications office, or in a cultural setting. A graduate of the Universidad del Valle de México and the Escuela de Escritores de México, where she cultivated her love of words through a diploma in Creative Writing, Ángeles has taken diverse paths: she was a reporter for AM de Querétaro, El Corregidor, Revista Cambio, and a correspondent for EnFoQuE Noticias, in addition to heading social communications departments at institutions such as the Municipal DIF of Polotitlán, the PRI in the State of Mexico, and the Municipal Institute for Women in San Juan del Río. Her drive does not stop at public office or journalism. Ángeles organized the Polotitlán Book Fair, convinced that books should be close to the people. In her work, poetry is a refuge, a mirror, and an offering: her first collection of poems, Simiario, shows a gaze that observes the world with delicacy and intensity. Now, she is nearing completion of her second book of poetry. For her, writing is not a goal, but a way of living, a way of resisting, of understanding oneself, and of embracing others, word by word.
