Tizzita TEFFERA

Tizzita Teffera’s work is a profound exploration of ritual, Jungian principles of the shadow self and the light, and the dichotomies that shape human existence—good and bad, light and dark, self and other. She delves into the zero-sum nature of these dualities, interrogating the spaces where opposites meet, coexist, and conflict. Rooted in esoteric knowledge and ritualistic practice, her art confronts the intricacies of shame, particularly the shame associated with femininity, and seeks pathways to transcend it. Her creative inquiry is expressed through diverse media, including performance, painting, image transfer and printmaking.
