A biologist, she graduated from the Faculty of Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She holds a Master's degree in Biology from the same Faculty. She holds a doctorate from the Institute of Ecosystems and Sustainability Research at the UNAM, Morelia campus. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Colegio de Postgraduados within the framework of the PRONACE socioecological programme “Socioecological analysis for the design of an ecological restoration strategy in an area affected by the construction of the new international airport of Mexico City”. She is the author of several journal articles and book chapters and is a member of the National Network of Researchers. Her research focuses on the local management of natural resources using an interdisciplinary approach and with a social commitment. She is currently a full-time associate lecturer on the Bachelor of Earth Sciences course at ENES Juriquilla.
