Joe Boyd is a record producer and writer, renowned for his work with Nick Drake, R.E.M, Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention, Billy Bragg, ¡Cubanismo!, Toumani Diabaté, Toots and the Maytals and Taj Mahal, among many others over the course of a sixty-year career. In 2005, he published his acclaimed memoir White Bicycles: Making Music in the 1960s. His new book And The Roots of Rhythm Remain: A Journey Through Global Music was published in 2024. As a film producer, his credits include Jimi Hendrix, Scandal and Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace. A gifted raconteur, he appears frequently on the BBC and other global and local radio, podcast and television outlets.
