Ramón Santillana is a sound artist, composer and sound designer specializing in ambient sounds, walks and soundscapes. His work combines analogue and digital sound manipulation with the critical exploration of social, political and ecological narratives. He has participated in the EDULEARN 2024 conference (Mallorca), the International Institute for Critical Studies' music improvisation camp (Guelph), and festivals such as Transversal Sonora (Argentina) and Barrilete (Guatemala). His work analyses the degradation of the soundscape resulting from tourism, urbanization and production systems. He collaborates with Ableton (Germany) and Arturia (France). He holds Master's degrees in sound art and design and is currently pursuing a doctorate in music at the University of Huddersfield, England. He has been a professor at the Monterrey Technological University (Queretaro campus) since 2017.
