David Uclés is a writer, musician, illustrator, and translator. His novels include The Peninsula of Empty Houses (Cálamo Book of the Year Award 2024, Andalucía Critics’ Award 2025, finalist for the EU Prize for Literature), Emilio and October, and The Lion’s Weeping (Complutense Prize for Literature). He has lived and worked in Germany, Switzerland, and France, and collaborates regularly with Spanish and international media. The Peninsula of Empty Houses has been named one of the best books of the past year and is currently being translated into five languages.
