Yolanda Rubioceja was born in the city of Mexico and has lived in Queretaro for the last ten years, and is a writer, illustrator and industrial designer. Her most recent book, Miranda y las cosas normales, illustrated by Constanza Ibarrarán, was published by Letra Capital, Secretaría de Cultura Querétaro, Municipio de Querétaro. Other books by her include: ¡Aaa!, Letra Capital, Secretaría de Cultura del Municipio de Querétaro; Quía y el enigma del dispar de zapatos, Alas y Raíces, Secult México; El insólito mundo y otros seres imaginarios, Ediciones B - Penguin Random; El mundo y otros productos desechables, Instituto Mexiquense de Cultura. Texts of hers have been published in anthologies and cultural magazines, as well as on the website of the Instituto Electoral del Estado de Querétaro. She has won, among other prizes, the Alas de Lagartija Award, Secretaría de Cultura de México, 2020, and 2nd place in the 2019 Ignacio Padilla Municipal Short Story Prize, run by the Culture Department of Queretaro city.
