Daniela NIETO

From Michoacán, Daniela Nieto is a performing artist with 38 years of experience in the theatre. In 2007 she founded the Dadev-Danza Company, a project that has consolidated her creative and pedagogical vision through performances, workshops and tours in Mexico and further afield. As a dancer and choreographer she has participated in several festivals in Mexico and abroad, including the Tabasco Festival of Contemporary Dance, the International Dance
Festival in Morelia, the International Festival of Performing Arts in Queretaro, the Festival Revueltas in Durango, the Festival Internacional de FINTDAZ in Iquique, Chile, and the Festival Subterráneo Scénico in Mexico City. In education, she has taught courses and lessons in the Graham Technique, corporal expression, pilates and jazz, aimed at dance groups, contemporary dance groups, folk-based ballet dancers and the general public, both in Mexicoand abroad. She also does work in the community, where she has designed and given lessons to children, teenagers and young people, with an emphasis on the body-nature connection, creativity and care for one’s surroundings. As a multidisciplinary artist, Daniela Nieto also cultivates the writing of stories and poetry for children, considering literature as a tool for the integrated development of children and teenagers. In her most recent activities, she combines dance with oral and scenic narration, presenting work in children's parks and cultural spaces with stories written by herself, integrating words, body and emotion to nourish the imagination.
