As a produced playwright and published writer, her work aims to advance justice, equity, and positive, authentic representation for marginalized populations. As a scholar, her areas of focus are the Black Aesthetic, literature of the African diaspora, and creative writing. Janelle is excited to be back with the Hay Festival and looks forward to engaging in conversations that build and strengthen cultural bridges through diverse storytelling.
