Scientific researcher in the area of ​​biophotonics and biomedical optics, he holds a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rochester (Rochester, New York) and lectures in Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Engineering. He is currently the Coordinator of the Biophotonics and Biomedical Optics Research Group and holder of three funded projects: PROCIENCIA-CONCYTEC (2023), OPTICA Foundation Challenge (2023), and the Wellcome Trust Early-Career Award (2024).
