Edna Liliana Valencia is an Afro-Colombian journalist with over 15 years of experience in national and international media. An activist for the rights of Afro-descendant communities, she is also a consultant on inclusion and diversity, an entrepreneur, speaker, poet, and writer, and the author of El racismo y yo (2022) and La diáspora perdida (2025). She is a member of the Atlantic Council’s bipartisan advisory group on U.S.–Colombia relations and part of the Afro-Latino Journalists Task Force of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) in the United States. A social communicator specializing in international journalism and communication for development, she has worked in over 20 countries and holds a certification in Afro-Latin American Studies from Harvard University. She served as a consultant for Disney Animation Studios on Afro representation for the film Encanto, official presenter for the Ministry of Culture’s events in 2022, Press Chief for the Vice Presidency of Colombia (2022–2023), and host of the 2024 documentary series Survivors: Stories of Restorative Justice.
