Bertha Arnedo is a Social Communicator, specialising in Business Management, with a Master’s in Communication, and is a doctoral candidate in the same field, with a distinguished academic and cultural management career. She is a lecturer at the University of Cartagena, where she also serves as Vice-Rector of Extension and Community Outreach, directs the Communication, Education and Culture research group, and has been Director of the Social Communication Programme, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education, and manager of the institution's Cultural Heritage Observatory. Her experience extends beyond academia, as she has served as Director of the Institute of Heritage and Culture of Cartagena de Indias (IPCC). As an author, she has a broad and diverse body of work that includes En la Onda de la Radio (2012), Pentágono (2023), 9 innings: Estudios socioculturales sobre el béisbol en el Caribe colombiano (FCE 2022 and 2025), Memorias de Béisbol en Bolívar y Cartagena de Indias (2024), A la luz malva de las 6 de la tarde, Gabo en Cartagena (2024) and also the Heritage Booklets in digital format and the Expedición Cartagena podcast series on the topic of cultural heritage.
