Vladimir Urueta León is a Colombian philosopher and full-time tenured professor at the University of Cartagena, where he also served as Director of the Philosophy Program from 2014 to 2018. He earned a Master of Science in Philosophy from the University of Zulia, as well as a specialization in ethics and political philosophy and a degree in philosophy from the University of Cartagena. His academic work focuses on ethics, Latin American philosophy, and the philosophy of history. His scholarly output includes articles in indexed journals, such as Education in the Face of the Challenges of Globalization (2011) and Notes on Some Assessments of the Influence of Utilitarianism in the New Era (2025), along with edited volumes and book chapters on John Stuart Mill, freedom and tolerance, and the influence of utilitarianism in nineteenth-century Colombia.
