Muriel Vanegas Beltrán holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Cartagena, a Master's degree in Caribbean Studies from the National University of Colombia, and a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Cartagena. She is a History lecturer at the University of Cartagena and currently serves as Vice Dean of Curriculum for the Faculty of Humanities at the same institution. She has published books, book chapters, and scholarly articles. She was the winner of the Second Call for Proposals for research books on the University of Cartagena's Bicentennial, focusing on its history during the 20th century.
