Tomás GRAVES

Tomás Graves, in addition to being a writer, translator and musician, founded The New Seizin Press in 1981, together with his wife, a traditional printing workshop that produced his books by hand, for which he was awarded the title of Master Artisan Printer by the Government of the Balearic Islands. He was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1953, and between 1959 and 1963 he studied at the school in Deià in the afternoons and the British curriculum with his mother in the mornings. His training included classical guitar and typographic design. In 1980, he returned to Deià and joined the Pa Amb Oli Band, founded by his brother Juan. In 2004 and 2005, Graves co-organised the first Hay Festival in Spain under the name tertulia@deià, with participants such as Hanif Kureishi, Ian McEwan, Peter Bogdanovich, Ray Loriga, Pau Riba, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Sidran.
