Moussa SENE ABSA

Moussa Sene Absa (born in 1958 in Dakar, Senegal) is a renowned Senegalese filmmaker, writer, musician, and visual artist. He began his career as an actor before moving into directing, where he developed a distinctive and highly creative voice. His work includes acclaimed films such as Tableau Ferraille (1997), which won Best Cinematography at FESPACO, and Madame Brouette (2002), awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003. In addition to cinema, he created the popular television series Gorgorlu and has exhibited his paintings internationally. His work often explores social, cultural, and political themes in contemporary Africa through a poetic and personal lens.
